We totally agree!

Hazel especially loves the desk with a total of 18 storage baskets (nine on each side) that Gina’s husband built.

The next American Crafts design team member is Heather Leopard and here is what she says about her creative space:

It’s functional and organized with no clutter.

There is even a dedicated space for her children so they can create together.

Nicole uses her family’s bonus / play room to scrap.

Her Expedit bookcase is used as a room divider, which gives a little separation between her stuff and the kids’ area while still allowing her to be part of the action.

Let’s see what Gillion Nelson has up her sleeve.

Gillian and her husband share opposite sides of an IKEA desk.

There’s lots of natural light and it looks calm and serene even though she claims that it is not representative of her reality.

And last, but not least: Ashley Horton.

She uses part of her bedroom as her craft space.

Even though she would love to have a dedicated room, this currently works very well for her and everything is neatly sorted and on-hand.

Not everyone is fortunate to have a separate scrap space and it’s great to see people who don’t have a dedicated space make this situation work for them.

Ashley used what she had on hand and we love how she incorporated her stash in her everyday living space. Well done Ashley!

Check out the creative spaces from some of your favorite crafters, American Crafts’ design team members!

Hello, fellow storage enthusiasts!

It’s Hazel here to share a few posts over at the American Crafts blog that took my fancy.

They had a Scrap Space week!

Each of their design team members had a chance to share their happy craft spaces.

I was so excited, I got up a bit earlier on the days that I had appointments to read all about it before I had to be on my way.

Let’s start with Gina Lideros and her description of her happy place:

Craft Storage Ideas: Solutions Round-Up – 15 Awesome Craft Storage Tools From Your Kitchen
Craft storage made easy with items you may already own!

Hi!

It’s Amanda here and I’m going to share with you some really amazing storage solutions that could be hiding right in your own home, items you may never have thought of using to house your crafting supplies.

As a crafters we’re always on the lookout for the best way to store all our crafting supplies in our spaces.

There are so many products on the market that are made just for craft storage, but some of those solutions can get pretty pricey.

So today I would like to share with you some hidden gems that might be in your kitchen that you could use to store some of your stash.

First up is a little bit of upcycling.

These old baby food jars were cleaned out and hung up with magnets under a cabinet to provide color coordinated button storage. Genius I say!

Not to mention mostly free since you would be re-using something that normally goes in the trash.

How about canning jars?

I’m sure you’ve seen all over the web how these beauties can help neaten up your space.

With the clear jars you can still see what’s inside and yet everything is neat and orderly.

A wine rack?

No, not for keeping your wine handy when you’re crafting, but with a few glasses, it makes amazing marker and pen storage right on your desktop or wall!

Here’s another upcycle!

This super smart crafter saved some jars from the kitchen – I spy spaghetti sauce and pickle jars here!

Just brighten up the lids with some paint, drill a hole and add a pretty drawer pull to the top, and you have some really cute looking jars to sort your supplies into!

These are just plain adorable!

Need some hidden storage?

How about adding some Bygel Rails (meant for kitchen use) and dowels on the inside of a cabinet door to store all your craft paints?

Of course I couldn’t leave out the ever-popular Raskog Cart!

This little baby holds lots of stuff, has wheels to easily roll it around your space, and it’s just a really awesome color.

Who doesn’t love turquoise?!

How about re-purposing a coffee pod holder for storing embossing powders (or other small tubs or jars of supplies)?

It’s a cute and a functional way to store your stash in an at-hand solution!

Steph uses a coffee pod holder for her washi tape – stay tuned for a share of that storage option in a future post!

Need an organizer for small bits?

Look no further than a muffin tin!
