Here’s a cute one with an entire tutorial for the chalkboard makeover at Design Improvised.

Just think of all the craft supplies you can stuff organize in here! LOL

This is my final post with CSI. I’m going to miss posting for you all but I feel after 2 years it’s time for me to move on. Thank you so much to all you crafty organizers!

All About the Furniture: File Cabinets

I like to think a little outside the box when it comes to storing my crafting supplies. And I love to re-purpose items that I may already have in my home to use for my craft organization. Today, I am going to show you some creative ways to use file cabinets to store your crafting supplies.

First up, Sew Many Ways shows how she organizes her fabric on hanging files in a standard file cabinet. The fabric is all neatly organized and easily accessible.

She originally had a smaller cabinet and upgraded to a larger one. This seems to be a great system whether you have a little or a lot of fabric. You can read more in her post to see how she organizes the rest of it!

Filing cabinets can also be used to store scrapbook paper. A standard hanging file will easily organize your scraps of paper by color or theme. You can also buy specialized cabinets that are 12 x 12 size. I have the Recollections File Cube in my craft room.

Scrappy Go Lucky shows how she stores all her paper scraps in her storage cube, both by size and color.

Here are the same cubes again for sorting colored cardstock. It is so nice to have all those papers sorted out and easy to find. Scrapbook Room Organization shows how she has modified the cubes to be able to add tabs to the tops of the folders.

This rolling craft cart featured on Better Homes & Gardens is a great solution if you like to take your scrapbooking or crafts to different rooms to work.

Lastly, don’t think just because you have a boring, standard office file cabinet you can’t make it pretty! Here are three examples of how you can make your file cabinet match any decor:
