Studio Tour with Vee Jennings

What do you get when you combine a mother of two, a Memory Makers Master, Studio Calico design team member, and well published scrapbook artist?  You get Vee Jennings!  Her “studio” is small, but packed full of inspiration!

I am excited to share my creative area with you today.  My scrap space is small and in my bedroom which means that every supply I own has to have a home.  This especially holds true to the supplies I love to use most like my paints, mists, pens and punches.  I also wanted this space in room to coordinate with the overall aesthetic of my bedroom.

An easy way for me to keep items organized and contained was to create containers for almost everything. I love looking at my supplies so I condense packaging and put them into cute jars or on display in crates and mini bowls. Everything is cuter in groups and collections! You will quickly notice that is my favorite way to organize.

Eclectic inspiration

1. What kind of budget did you have when organizing your space?

I wanted to keep my space affordable and re-purposed. I love mixing vintage and modern decor together. Some of my most favorite pieces are my thrifted pieces. In an effort to keep cost down I purchased vintage items from some of my favorite stores like: antique stores, IKEA, Target and craft stores.

2. What was/is your greatest challenge?

My greatest challenge is the size of space. My corner is in the shape of an inverted L. I had to make the most of my wall, desk and shelf space

3. Are you a “organize it once” kind of girl, or are your storage solutions constantly evolving?

My storage solutions are always evolving. I discovered earlier in the year that I love drawers! I am in love with my  Alex cabinet. It is perfect for paper and embellishment organization.

4. What is one thing you’d like to improve about your storage/organization?

I need a solution to housing my layouts until I put them into albums. I am really bad at putting away finished layouts! So I need a quick and easy solution to store them until I put them away.
