Hi, everyone! This is Doris, and I am thrilled to be bringing you my very first post as Contributor for CSI! I’m going to be sharing some of my favorite craft rooms, storage ideas and crafty tips, so I hope you will find them as inspiring and useful as I have. If there’s a particular type of storage or “how-to” that you’re interested in, please let me know and I will do my best to try to find some good examples!
That being said, here is a craft room I came across several months ago that I think makes the best of a smaller space. Amy at “Just Pleased as Punch” was on the hunt for a desk, similar to what she had seen in a Pottery Barn catalogue. But she wasn’t too keen on the $1200 price tag, so she did what every frugal crafter does – she got crafty! By using 2 book shelves and one 9-section “cubby” from Target for the base, and a piece of MDF board she had cut at Home Depot for the desk top, she was able to create a very functional workspace.

And here is a close up of her use of tension rods (for curtains) inside the shelves to keep her wrapping paper rolls, spools of ribbon, and sheets of tissue paper “at the ready.”
